Jigsaw Sudoku: instructions and practice

Choose a round of Jigsaw Sudoku and settle into its rules. Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

This collection contains 6 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

Practice beyond the first move

Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow. Keep the objective visible.

The challenge in front of you

Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Keep the controls in easy reach.

Work through the instructions

  1. Select an editable cell.
  2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
  3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
  4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
  5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

How to use the controls

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Look at the feedback after the action.

Put the rules into context

The coloured region, not a conventional 3×3 box, defines the third no-repeat constraint. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Look for the relevant detail.

A mistake to avoid

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
