Binary Puzzle: instructions and practice

Start Binary Puzzle by looking at the playing area and its controls. Fill a 6×6 grid with balanced zeroes and ones, no three equal neighbours, and no duplicate rows or columns. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Choose from ten 6×6 puzzles. Undo changes or reveal a selected cell when you need help.

Something to practise

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Refer to the controls when needed.

What the game asks you to do

Fill a 6×6 grid with balanced zeroes and ones, no three equal neighbours, and no duplicate rows or columns. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Notice how the game responds to your input.

The steps to play

  1. Select an editable square.
  2. Enter 0 or 1; each line needs three of each.
  3. Avoid three consecutive equal values horizontally or vertically.
  4. Check puzzle validates balance, triples and unique lines.

Making selections and moves

Click or tap squares or graph edges. Number boards include a digit pad. Undo reverses the previous change; Check puzzle validates the solution. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Use one clear input at a time.

See how the rules apply

A row beginning 0 0 needs 1 next. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Keep the game’s format in mind.

One detail worth checking

Balanced rows may still duplicate each other. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow.
